I’m disappointed in the sequel of the original Sisterhood series. Flawed characters are often the most interesting, but in this case I think it went beyond flawed, straight into immature. Plus I didn’t like the messages that Brashares was trying to get across in regards to women and what will really make a woman feel fulfilled, her anti-choice sentiments (I know she’s entitled to her own opinions, of course, but writers can be pretty influential—especially if teen girls read this—and the way that those sentiments were projected and the way the story played out was pretty unrealistic—hello, the nurse?). Plus she drastically changed one particular character but rushed the explanation of why/how she changed. Not my cup of tea. She should have stopped at the fourth book and left it at that, instead of jumping ~10 years later. Bridget’s storyline was the most engaging and compelling, in my opinion, until a certain point in the book, which frustrated me and almost made me stop reading and return the book. The book was just utterly lacking in character development.
Polite cat
That little headbutt in the second one gave me diabetes.
Oh my god give me
DAMMIT.
“Excuse me, human. I would like a petting, please. Yes, thank you.”
“Um, excuse me, human? Human? Ah yes, I’d like another petting please. Ah, thank you.”
